We are committed to raising awareness for domestic violence, empowering survivors, and advocating for legislative change to prevent Gina's story from ever happening again!
Our foundation, Journey 4 Gina was created to honor Gina Bryant's legacy.
Our journey is committed to raise awareness for domestic violence and
to help prevent other tragedies from happening.
We are here to devote our time to be the voice for those who have lost their life,
for those who cannot speak up, for those who are struggling in life to get out of
difficult situations, and for those who need protection. We will continue to advocate
until we see change!
Gina was, is, and always will be the embodiment of love and life; someone whom we
can all learn from, and someone who will be celebrated, loved, and cherished forever.
This foundation is our love letter to her.
J4G will continue to shine Gina's light in any way we possibly can.
Gina Nicole Bryant was the epitome of ‘full of life’. She was bright, funny, gentle, kind, and astonishingly beautiful. Gina was born as the youngest of five siblings, on February 2, 1998, to Catherine Dalian. Gina spent most of her life in Macomb County, Michigan.
Gina was intelligent, dedicated, and extremely hard working, even from a young age. Gina successfully secured a place at the International Academy of Macomb, a high school with an intense college preparatory program ranked number one in the state. Gina then went on to attend Grand Valley State University. She worked hard to support herself as she attended GVSU, and never failed to prioritize time spent with family and friends, all while continuing to excel academically. Gina earned her bachelor’s degree in December of 2020, becoming the first member of her family to graduate from college.
After she graduated, Gina took some time to determine what she wanted to do next. She eventually selected an accelerated nursing program and was swiftly admitted to a program at the University of Michigan, in hopes of eventually continuing on in her education to become a nurse practitioner. Having worked at a dermatology office for years, she knew she wanted to continue working in that field as it was her passion. Gina’s friends were constantly asking her for skincare recommendations and perpetually sending her photos of obscure skin conditions, seeking her diagnosis, to which she happily obliged. She was also known to scold her loved ones for forgetting to wear sunscreen or wash their face before bed. But as with everything Gina did, this too, was always out of love.
While Gina was dedicated to her studies and pursuing a career, she certainly still knew how to have fun. She loved live music, traveling, drinking sauvignon blanc and low-sugar Moscow mules with her friends, boating, and playing euchre. Gina was also very active; whether she was taking Orange Theory fitness classes with friends, walking, going for a run, or dancing at a music festival, she always valued getting her body moving. She loved to cook and eat good food. Gina was also very fashionable; she meticulously selected every piece of clothing she owned. Her closet was the envy of all of her friends, but fortunately for them, she was very generous and always willing to share.
Most importantly, Gina was treasured by her family and friends. Gina was a caring daughter who always knew how to make her mom smile. She was a sassy, silly, sweet baby sister, who never failed to make her siblings laugh. She was a doting aunt to her niece and six nephews and would drive all around town to secure the perfect birthday gifts. And finally, she was an exceptional friend, who you could always count on to be there for you when you needed her most. She never missed a birthday or the chance to celebrate the ones she loved.
